WELCOME TO THE PW HOKIES WEBSITE!

Welcome to the PW Hokies’ Website!  We are the Prince William Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association, proudly serving the communities of Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park . The PW Hokies’ primary goal is to encourage scholarship of our community’s youth.  In the chapter’s first two years of existence six scholarships have been awarded to Tech-bound graduating seniors from high schools in the chapter’s coverage area. The chapter also encourages community service through its support of the Virginia Tech VT-Engage program; the Prince William Habitat for Humanity; and Red Cross and INOVA blood drives. And to ensure a balanced program, we also sponsor intellectual, social, and sports activities of broad interest to the community. Check out other parts of this site to see what our Chapter has been up to and is all about.

If you would like to suggest an activity the PW Hokies should sponsor or if you have any comment about our program or Website, please send an email to me, Whitney Wright, or complete our feedback form on the left hand navigation panel to let us know what’s on your mind! Please visit our Website often to stay abreast of what is on the horizon and to provide us with your input. If you want to be added to our email list to learn about upcoming events, just complete the signup form accessible from the left hand navigation panel. Please know that your contact information will NOT be shared outside of our chapter. Thanks again for visiting the PW Hokies’ Website! We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!

PW HOKIES WIN PRESTIGIOUS RECOGNITION

The Prince William Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association won the VT Alumni Association's prestigious Outstanding Chapter Golf Tournament for our 2008 Spring Scholarship Golf Tournament at Virginia Oaks.  This was the chapter's first effort at running a tournament, and it netted more than $12,000! Many thanks to Alan Caudill, Scholarship Chair and Tournament Chair for his outstanding leadership.  We also want to thank our many tournament sponsors, especially Land Design Consultants, LLC, and Bonefish Grill for their contributions to the success of the event.  Please visit our sponsors page and support their businesses.  Stay tuned for information on our upcoming 2009 Scholarship Golf Tournament which should be even better than last years!

Saturday November 17 2007. The thank you message to the world is for the global outpouring of support for the Virginia Tech community following the shooting tragedy of April 16

PW Hokies
Excel in Community Leadership

The Prince William Hokies recently sponsored its second annual Blood Drive and second annual Scholarship Golf Classic. On April 25, 2009, the PW Hokies participated with Prince William County in its Emergency Preparedness Event at the McCoart Center. In cooperation with INOVA Blood Services, we helped replenish the very low blood supply in the region, expecially as we move into the busy spring and summer travel period. Also, on April 12, 2009, the PW Hokies sponsored its second annual Scholarship Golf Classic. Proceeds from the tournament help fund scholarships for Prince William high school seniors accepted to attend VT in the fall. This year the PW Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association is granting $1,000 scholarships to six Prince William seniors who have demonstrated outstanding community service in thier resumes, in keeping with the University's VT-Engage Promotion. Congratulations to all of our scholarship awardees, who will be announced on June 12, and to all Prince William high school graduates!
