Welcome to the PWHOKIES Website! We are the Prince William
Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association, proudly serving
the communities of Prince William County and the cities of Manassas
and Manassas Park. The PW Hokies’ primary goals are to encourage
scholarship of our community’s youth and volunteerism of the
entire community. In the chapter’s first four years, fifteen
scholarships have been awarded to Tech-bound graduating seniors
from high schools in the chapter's coverage area. The chapter encourages
community service through its support of the Virginia
Tech VT-Engage program; the Prince
William Habitat for Humanity; the American Red Cross through an annual blood drive; the Virginia Department of Transportation's
Adopt-A-Highway program; and through its annual scholarship contest which emphasizes both accademics and community service. To ensure a balanced program, we also sponsor
intellectual, social, and sports activities of broad interest to
the community. Check out other parts of this site and our online
photo album to see what our Chapter is all about.
Support for the scholarship program comes primarily from the PW Hokies' Annual Golf Classic which is held in the spring of each year. This year's tournament will be held on June 14, 2011 at Bull Run Golf Club in Virginia. The winning foursome will receive four invites to compete in the 3nd Annual Acura College Alumni Team Championship at Pinehurst this coming October. Click here or on the Photo Album navigation bar in the left hand navigation panel to see great pictures of the guests and the events. The chapter has raised over $40,000 in its five tournaments so far through the generous support of the players, the corporate sponsors, and local businesses who have donated goods and services. A special thanks goes out to Land Design Consultants, LLC, Bad To The Bone Smokhouse, Bone Fish, Miller Toyota, Capital Pension Services, Inc., Invite, and Acura for their continued annual sponsorships of our tournament. Also, special thanks go to our more than 80 local businesses that contributed goods and services for our silent auction. A full listing of sponsors and contributors will be posted on our golf website. Check this site frequently to learn more about sponsorship opportunities and details about future tournaments and activities.
If you would like to suggest other activities that the PW Hokies should sponsor or if you have any comment about our program or Website, please send an email to me, Krysta Ardigo You can also complete our feedback form on the left hand navigation panel to let us know what’s on your mind! Please visit our Website often to stay abreast of what is on the horizon and to provide us with your input. If you want to be added to our email list to learn about upcoming events, just complete the signup form accessible from the left hand navigation panel. Please know that your contact information will NOT be shared outside of our chapter. Thanks again for visiting the PW Hokies’ Website! We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!
